Nicole Thayer has recently joined the board of Port Resources with a motivation to volunteer in her community to serve an organization that embraces values similar to her own, including compassion, respect as well as the use of quality and innovation to improve the lives and services for the population. Nicole is a Registered Nurse who feels fortunate to have gained experience working in multiple settings ranging from primary care, in-patient pediatrics, neonatal intensive care and psychiatric care.
Nicole currently serves at Martin’s Point Health Care leading risk management, patient safety and accreditation. She has earned a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University. In her past experience, she has also personally contributed to published scientific findings in a molecular biology research laboratory.
Nicole grew up in New England and currently calls Scarborough home. She lives in a busy household with her husband and their four children ranging from age 12 to 18. Outside of work and service to her community, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking, swimming, hiking and running.
