This program meets the State of Maine CRMA regulations under section 7. The Registered Nurse will provide participants with an overview of how to recognize pre-diabetic symptoms, proper use and care of equipment associated with Blood Glucose monitoring, the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, and medical care including specialist such as podiatrists.
Each participant will receive and review information regarding proper nutrition and its role in maintaining individual health. This will include menu planning exercises and discussion around food and how it metabolizes in the diabetic body.
Staff and client safety will be empathized through the review of all standard precautions including proper storage of medication, universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and proper disposal.
*Annual recertification is required
