Dreams Do Come True

Through the generosity of Port Resources employees Caring and Sharing Program, we are able to make some special dreams come true for the individuals we serve. 

In June, 2008 we were able to make Chris’s dream a reality with the help of our friends at Oakhurst Dairy.  Chris is a big fan of Oakhurst products and has always wanted to ride in a big Oakhurst truck.  At our dreams presentation on June 25^th, Oakhurst distribution manager John McCarthy informed Chris that there was a Oakhurst truck in the parking lot and an Oakhurst driver would take Chris on a ride.  Pictured below is Chris with his dad and Pete from Oakhurst. 

Once every three months we host a “Dreams Presentation” celebration at our central office where up to five individuals are surprised to find out that their dream is going to come true.

Our dedicated employees wanted a way that they could give something special back to the individuals we support and make a difference by granting some special and unique dreams.  All dreams are paid for through employee contributions and/or gifts in kind from many of our corporate partners in the community. 

Some other dreams our employees have made possible: 

• Have a chance at being a DJ on the radio.  Thank you WBLM!

• Have ride in a 18 wheeler.  Thank you Hannaford!

• A trip to Graceland in Tennessee.

• Trip to the Fryeburg Fair and an overnight in North Conway.

• Annual membership to the Portland YMCA.  Thank you YMCA!
