Adult
Residential Services
We provide many
different types of residential services to people with Developmental
Disabilities.
Our
programming meets the individual needs of the consumers we support. Some homes
offer intensive staffing and others operate on more of a supported living model.
Staff in particular homes receive specific training relative to the needs of the
consumers they support. Level of care provided by support staff may involve
assistance with daily living skills, medication administration, personal care,
and community integration. Staff training may include specialized medical care,
diet management, behavioral management and mental health issues. Staffing
patterns and schedules suit the needs of the consumers in the home.
We pride
ourselves in having homes that are comparable to other private homes in the
neighborhood. The homes themselves are comfortably furnished, nicely decorated,
well maintained and devoid of institutional elements.
We have homes throughout our
cachement area, as far north as New Gloucester, as far west Buxton and as far
south as Saco. Each program has a full time Program Manager to provide oversight
and clinical support Monday through Friday. Management and clinical oversight to
Managers is provided by a team of Administrators. Some homes are set up to
assist young adults transitioning from adolescence and school life to adulthood
and employment. Others support a geriatric population and provide special care
for their needs. Some homes are mixed gender and others serve either men or
women.
All
consumers are encouraged to participate in vocational pursuits, day
habilitation, and in recreational offerings by the agency and the community. We
support persons with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, Down Syndrome,
Prader Willi Syndrome, Angelman’s Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. We also support
persons with acute mental health issues and challenging behaviors. We have
successfully supported consumers who have experienced challenges with the
criminal justice system.
